Personal data collected through the websites of the Colmenar Viejo City Council will be processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and with Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights.
On May 25, 2018, a new European data protection regulation ( General Data Protection Regulation ) came into force, which adds new rights to those already existing in Spanish legislation.
What new features does this regulation introduce?
These new rights will allow you to know and be informed about how your personal data is collected, used and stored by the Colmenar Viejo City Council and the entities that depend on it.
Furthermore, it establishes different figures and procedures specially created to protect your data and facilitate its use.
What do we use your data for?
At the Colmenar Viejo Town Hall, we process your personal data to manage the public services that municipalities are legally obligated to provide and to comply with our legal obligations. For example, we use your personal data to create and maintain the Municipal Register, and to manage services related to sports, culture, senior citizens, etc.
Who do we share your data with?
The data will be processed by the City Council's own staff and stored in the municipality's computer systems.
The Colmenar Viejo Town Hall will not share your personal data with other individuals or companies unless permitted by law. For example, we will share your data with the National Institute of Statistics to facilitate its operations, as this is authorized by law.
In general, your data will only be shared with other Public Administrations.
What rights do you have over your data?
- Access to the personal data that the Colmenar Viejo City Council has about you (right of access).
- Modify and correct your personal data when it changes or is incorrect (right of rectification).
- Obtain your personal data in a computer format for your use or to provide it to a third party (right to data portability).
- Cancel your personal data when, among other reasons, the data is no longer necessary (right to erasure).
- Request the limitation of the use of your personal data only for the activity for which it was collected (right to limitation).
- To object to our use of your personal data for purposes other than the service offered (right to object).
In the case of data processed to manage public services or to comply with a legal obligation, the rights of cancellation, erasure, restriction of processing, and objection will be exercised within the limits established by applicable regulations. This may mean, in some cases, that the requested action cannot be granted. For example, the law does not allow for the deletion of data from the Municipal Register, even if requested by the citizen.
